What is AutoLearn?

AutoLearn is an e-learning environment for learning English or German as a foreign language with the help of Automatic Correction facilities that go beyond spell and grammar checking. AutoLearn allows learners to get instant feedback from the tutoring system, but can also be combined with teacher supervision. AutoLearn is implemented using the Moodle open-source content-management system, which means that many of the collaborative learning functionalities included in Moodle can be also exploited for language learning.

Who can use AutoLearn?

Anyone can use AutoLearn. We have just started the testing period. Using AutoLearn is free, provided some minimum requirements are respected. Your school and your class can use Autolearn, and you can use it on your own.

What would be the purpose of using AutoLearn?

The objective of using AutoLearn in its current state is twofold. Firstly, we are pioneering the introduction of "intelligent" automatic correction tools in real learning environments, which adds machine-learner interaction to the existing teacher-learner and learner-learner interactions. Secondly, we believe it will help us to improve the system and benefit from improvements in the future (since these courses will be available after the life of the project).
